We do so much for the #gram these days that a travel company in Bali called “Forever on Vacation Bali” literally has a tour that specifically caters to this world-wide frenzy of the gram love. Now, take my word for it (or not) or just take my photographs from Bali for it but this tour is completely worth every pretty penny you spend on it. The reason- they cover the most gorgeous locations of Bali and you come back with tons of memories to put up on your wall (both in your house and the gram wall).
Now as you know I started a series on this Blog for most instagrammable locations and this tour just fit in smoothly with the concept. It was a surprise tour that Mr. H planned for me, the tour includes a drive around Bali the whole day, a tour guide who also doubles as a photographer (ours was amazing his name is Aprio and if you can ask the tour company to get you this guy trust me you will have the best photographs). We asked him how he became so good at it and pat came the reply “I do this five sometimes six times a week, I know exactly what the best angles are” and did he know them for sure.
The day began at 6 in the morning, they wanted us to start at 4 to avoid the crowd and the traffic. We were like what crowd and 6 in the morning, but if you are an early riser we recommend you take their advice and start at 4.
Our First Stop was
Lempuyang- Gates of Heaven
This location is absolutely breathtaking, with the gates framing the active Volcano mountain Agung. It is one of the key nine directional temples of Bali, from the gate you get the mesmerizing view of the little piece of heaven that Bali is. Also, the temple has found this extremely enchanting way of taking a photograph (to be honest they started doing this after one of the photographs went viral) where it looks like there is a water-body reflecting your photograph. You will know what I mean from the photographs.
The Beautiful Bali Gate of Heaven
This is where I said if you are an early riser start at 4, we were 162 in the line after starting at 6 and had to wait for an hour and a half for our number to come on the que. Yes, they distribute numbers for you to que and take a photograph. But it was totally worth it.
Not just the gateway but the area around is also gorgeous. Here are some bonus photographs that we too thanks to our guide.
From here we headed to
The beautiful former royal palace and is named after the holy river Ganga. Is maze of pools and water bodies with beautiful Koi Fishes swimming around and a very unique fish of Bali that can weigh as much as 5 Kgs. This place was destroyed once by the Volcano of Agung and has been built beautifully in all its glory. The area around Tirta Gangga is surrounded by rice fields and that was our next stop.
Lunch overlooking the rice fields. The lunch was organized by the tour company and was a delicious buffet that we ate at the edge of the cliff that had the most stunning view of the rice field. From there we left for the coffee plantation and the swing over the Bali Rice Terrace fields.
This has probably become one of the most instagrammable shots of Bali in the recent years. We went to the coffee plantation and on the swing but more than an Instagram shot this is an experience. It just feels amazing to be on this swing and to have the beautiful greenery around. An absolutely unadulterated view of Bali. Fortunately we were the only two people on the plantation and enjoyed the luxurious view, got explained to the beautiful process of making of the famous Indonesian Coffee, specially the Kopi Luwak which is made from the partially digested coffee cherries in the poop of the Luwak. We tasted the different coffee and teas that they had and brought back home the ones we loved.
From here we headed to the
Tukad Cepung Waterfall
A beautiful waterfall underground, some hundred fifty steps climb. Is just the cooling down experience that you need at the end of the hot and sweltering day. This was a refreshing end to the most beautiful day trip. We went back to our hotels swam and had a quite dinner to complete the day.
I hope you loved my travel- keep lusting for more.
